Fuel prices in Brisbane

What unleaded really cost at 571 Brisbane stations, day by day, up to 31 August 2026. Here's how the price moves, when it's lowest and what good timing is worth to you.

The price cycle

36 days

That's how long one cycle lasts in Brisbane. Prices jump about 31c a litre in a few days, then slide back down. Then it all starts again.

What good timing is worth

$233 a year

Fill a 50-litre tank every two weeks near the bottom of each cycle, not on a random day. You'd pay about 18c a litre less each time.

Unleaded every day for a year

See the saw teeth? Each sharp rise is the start of a new cycle. The low point just before it is the time to fill up.

Cents a litre: the average across stations of each one's price at noon.

How to catch the low

Over the year to August 2026, Brisbane went through 5 regular cycles. A typical one lasted 36 days, and prices rose 31c from the low to the high. Within each cycle, the days within 3c of its lowest price were 18.0c a litre cheaper than its average day. On 1,300 litres a year, that's the saving above. The big rise that began in February 2026 came from the cost of fuel itself, not the cycle, so we left it out.

The cheapest day of the week

In Brisbane, the day of the week hardly matters. The gap between the cheapest and dearest day is only 0.4c a litre. Where you are in the cycle matters far more.
