How the reports are written

We write each report from rental bond data once New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania have all published the quarter. Rents go up and down with the seasons, so each quarter is compared with the same quarter a year earlier. The report also says how that time of year usually sits against the trend. Rises and falls only list places with 100 or more new leases, so a handful of leases never makes a headline. Victoria, Western Australia, the ACT and the Northern Territory aren't covered, because they don't publish current bond figures.
